One of the many things we enjoy about Diversity Equity and Inclusion is the opportunity it provides us to learn about different groups and cultures. Indigenous People’s Day seems like it’s still a relatively new phrase to many (17% indicated they didn’t know about it), but did you know that it was actually instituted all the way back in 1992? It wasn’t till 2021 that it was commemorated as a federal holiday. To learn more about the history of Indigenous People’s Day, read on here.
